Dental Crowns & Bridges in GK-1, South Delhi

A dental crown is a custom cap that covers and protects a damaged tooth, restoring its shape, strength and appearance. A bridge uses crowns on neighbouring teeth to replace a missing tooth. At Ark Dental Global, R-27, Greater Kailash 1, crowns are made in zirconia, IPS e.max or PFM, and same-day CEREC crowns are available.

When It Helps

When is a crown needed?

Cracked or broken tooth

A crack or break too large for a filling.

After a root canal

Back teeth need protection once the nerve is removed.

Large old filling

A tooth that is more filling than tooth.

Worn teeth

Teeth worn down by grinding or acid.

Discoloured or misshapen

A front tooth that whitening or bonding cannot fix.

On an implant

Every dental implant is finished with a crown.

Materials

Choosing your crown material.

Your dentist recommends a material based on where the tooth is and how you bite.

Front teeth

IPS e.max (glass ceramic)

  • Lifelike translucency, matches natural teeth
  • Ideal for visible front teeth
  • No metal, so no grey line at the gum
  • Same-day CEREC option
Back teeth and grinders

Zirconia

  • Very high strength for chewing forces
  • Tooth-coloured, with no metal
  • Suits bridges and implant crowns
  • Lasts many years with good care
Step by Step

How a crown is made.

  1. Examination and X-ray

We check the tooth and the root. A root canal may be needed first if the nerve is affected.

  2. Shaping the tooth

Under local anaesthesia, a thin layer is removed so the crown fits without looking bulky.

  3. Digital scan

An intraoral scanner records the tooth in 3D, with no messy impression trays.

  4. Design and milling

With CEREC, the crown is designed and milled in the clinic while you wait. Otherwise a temporary crown is fitted while the laboratory makes it.

  5. Fitting

The crown is checked for fit, bite and colour, then bonded in place.

Patient Questions

Crown questions.

How much does a dental crown cost in South Delhi?

At Ark Dental Global, the cost of a crown depends on the material: porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM), zirconia or IPS e.max. Message us on WhatsApp for the current price list. You get a written quote after examination.

Zirconia or e.max: which crown is better?

Zirconia is extremely strong and suits back teeth and people who grind. IPS e.max is a glass ceramic with lifelike translucency and suits front teeth where appearance matters most. Many patients have zirconia at the back and e.max at the front.

Can I get a crown in one day?

Yes, in many cases. With same-day CEREC, the tooth is scanned, the crown is designed and milled in the clinic, and it is fitted in the same appointment, with no temporary crown.

How long do crowns last?

A well-made crown commonly lasts 10 to 15 years or more with good brushing, flossing and regular check-ups. Grinding your teeth shortens its life, so a night guard may be advised.

Do I need a crown after a root canal?

Usually yes for back teeth, because a root-canal-treated tooth is more brittle and can crack. Front teeth sometimes only need a filling.

Crown, bridge or implant for a missing tooth?

A crown repairs a tooth you still have. For a missing tooth, a bridge uses crowns on the neighbouring teeth to hold a false tooth, while an implant replaces the root and leaves the neighbours untouched. Our guide on implant vs bridge explains the choice.

Does getting a crown hurt?

The tooth is numbed with local anaesthesia, so preparation feels like having a filling. Mild sensitivity for a day or two is normal.
